to had back north to a campsite with at least the basics. Roughing it is one thing but no bathroom, especially in the morning, was not an option. Arrived in Fethard-on-Sea and found a campsite a mile later. A less than exciting place but it had amenities. I rode back to town to replenish my carbohydrates, i.e. a IPA at a local pub. Return to my tent and studied the map for tomorrow's ride. First Waterford and who knows how far from there. Staying on the back roads near the water is the strategy.

The rolling hills of Ireland
Spent the day ride on small country roads; I could do it for the rest of my life. At one point two ponies were being herded down the road to a pasture. One car was following a person on horseback. Real friendly people, they were intrigued by my bike and my journey. Shortly later, I came across an old steamship wreck, fascinating. With each turn the scenery got better. The hills moderated until the land became dead flat as I rode out to the Hook lighthouse. Huge structure with a restaurant adjacent to it. Initially I wanted to camp there but there were no facilities open after 5:30, no showered anytime. With the nearest bathroom seven miles away, it wasn't hard to decide it was time
