Rode south out of Dublin

My sense of direction is terrible but eventually I extracted myself from Dublin. Hugged the coast passing through one upscale seaside community after another. Sunny, perfect temperature until a few miles out of Greystones, a thunder storm dumped a deluge of rain on the area.  Thinking the storm would pass quickly, t
waited too  long and ended up putting on my rain gear over wet shorts and shirt.   Smooth move. Stuck to the sidewalks even with my rear light flashing.  The storm ended, found a super marke,  stripped off the gear, bought some food, spread out my gear to dry and had lunch.
Road to Wicklow over some wonderful winding country roads which passed through lush farm land.  With a little local knowledge, I found a campsite with another gorgeous view.  Almost all these sites have locations to die for. On my way to the camping area, I met  Colm Hearne.  Nice guy, talked for awhile; and  he invited me over for a beer later on. He and his family (a small tribe) have been coming down from Dublin to this place for decades. Can't imagine why!  A beach backed by a large cliff is accessed from a long winding set of stairs,  definitely vacation magazine quality.  The water is ice but everyone is swimming and who cares.
After dinner, I drifted over to Colm's permanent camp.  Met his family and had a fun time talking to them all. Very enjoyable evening, a few beers, some food, tea and biscuits and they gave me the scoop as to where to bike and camp. Staying in a nice B&Bs or hotel isolates you away from meeting the
people, really nice people.  Money can't by you everything but breaking out of your comfort zone can.
Tomorrow, I will head for Wexford, ride halfway there at least.
